INTRODUCING A NEW
GREEN ENERGY SOLUTION:
POWER/ENERGY CONTROL CENTER (PECC) – ZESS POWR™
Provides a
plug-and-play platform that can combine multiple renewable power sources with
large scale energy storage and other utility and generator power sources
combined together onto a DC collector bus. Platform allows for multiple outputs
to multiple loads, AC or DC, at any voltage required. This is the first power
system that is truly eco-friendly by providing high efficiency with renewable
energy. THIS IS THE FIRST ELECTRICAL SYSTEM THAT IS FLEXIBLE ENOUGH TO ALLOW FOR
THE APPLICATION OF GREEN ENERGY TO ALL POWER LOAD REQUIRMENTS.
The goals set out
in Executive Order 13423 and the requirements put forth by Congress in the
Energy Policy Act of 2005 and the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007
include a 30 percent reduction in energy intensity and a 16 percent reduction in
water use by 2015, and an increase of renewable energy to 7.5 percent of
electricity needs by 2013 for Federal facilities. ESPCs enable agencies to
undertake energy savings projects without paying up-front capital costs. ESPC
task orders typically are placed competitively and can be used for energy and
water efficiency and renewable energy projects.
ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE POWER SOLUTIONS FOR CRITICAL POWER ENVIRONMENTS
High density computer environments, utilizing Alternating Current (AC) power
supply blade server technologies are presenting major challenges to Data Center
owners and operators. Typical facility infrastructures cannot accommodate the
added electrical loads, heat loads and reliability requirements of such
installations. This phenomena, coupled with the new world emphasis on
alternative power and renewable “green energy” solutions, highlights the need
for data centers to look at new ideas for power and cooling in the future.
An example of a future technology is a higher voltage (400vDC) DC power.
Servers equipped with Direct Current (DC) power supplies, instead of AC power
supplies, operate with 20-40% less heat, reduce power consumption by up to 30%,
increase server reliability, offer flexibility to installations, are more easily
integrated with alternative energy sources and decrease maintenance
requirements.
Direct Power Technologies, Inc. is the first company to introduce an
electrical system that can provide 400vDC directly to computers and servers.
This is a voltage already utilized internally for all computer operations. In
partnership with INTEL, SUN MICROSYSTEMS, Lawrence Berkeley National
Laboratories, EPRI and ECOS Consulting, Direct Power Technologies, Inc. has
demonstrated the operation and energy savings of a 400vDC power distribution
system.
Utilizing current off-the-shelf components, it is possible to install and
operate a high reliability HVDC power distribution system for a DC powered
server environment, without batteries or complicated AC power system drawbacks.
This High Reliability HVDC Power Distribution System could be the next
generation power system for critical power environments.
This experience and technical expertise qualifies Direct Power Technologies,
Inc. as one of the premiere power services companies which provides Data Center
energy system consulting, engineering design, system integration, installation
and testing services with operations and maintenance support. Direct Power
Technologies, Inc. is a leader in providing next generation power systems that
offer energy savings, reliability, and environmental responsibility for data
centers now and in the future.
